Robert focuses his practice on representing individuals and corporations in complex commercial, transactional and business litigation matters. Bob also represents financial institutions and individuals in consumer finance litigation, including matters concerning fiduciary duties, contested foreclosures, creditors’ rights and lender liability. Additionally, Bob represents financial institutions, individuals and charitable organizations in their roles as fiduciaries, beneficiaries, trustees, guardians, heirs and executors in matters involving guardianship, inheritance, probate and the interpretation and enforcement of estate planning and business succession documents.
Bob has litigated, at both the appellate and trial levels, contract disputes, pharmaceutical class actions, shareholder/director disputes, will contests, trust disputes, and commercial and residential foreclosures arising under the Uniform Commercial Code, Ohio’s Probate Code, the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act.
Bob is a licensed patent attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO). He has prosecuted patents before the PTO. Bob also represents individuals and companies in intellectual property litigation matters.
Prior to joining Ciano & Goldwasser, Bob was an attorney at Thompson Hine LLP, in both its Business Litigation and Estate Planning practice groups. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law after receiving his bachelor’s degree in biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Bob lives in Medina with his wife and three children.
